How to care for your sheepskin garment ?
Sheepskin is a luxurious, natural, and dual-textured material, valued for its exceptional warmth, plush comfort, and timeless statement look. Because it combines a delicate suede or leather exterior with a soft wool interior, it requires specialized care to prevent the skin from hardening and to keep the wool perfectly fluffy over time.
Washing
- Never machine wash, tumble dry, or submerge your sheepskin garment in water. For regular maintenance, gently brush the wool side with a specialized wire suede brush to loosen dirt and restore fluffiness.
- For light stains on the suede side, use a clean suede eraser or a damp cloth with a drop of specialized leather cleaner, rubbing very gently.
Rinsing
- A light, delicate dab with a clean cloth slightly dampened with pure cold water is the secret to clearing away any cleaning residue on the spot, ensuring the natural hide remains supple and free from water rings.
Drying
- Always air dry your item flat or on a thick, padded hanger in a cool, shaded room with good airflow. Keep it far away from direct heat sources (radiators, fires) and intense sunlight, which will dry out the natural oils, causing the leather to shrink and crack.
Ironing
- Ironing is strictly discouraged. If your garment has light creases, hang it in a dry room and let its natural weight pull them out, or use a professional garment steamer only on the inside wool lining from a safe distance. Never apply a hot iron directly to the leather or wool.
- Specialty dry cleaning by a leather and suede professional is highly recommended for deep cleaning.
Small actions that make a difference

Shake out your garment regularly to remove dust and refresh the natural volume of the wool
Keep your item in a breathable cotton garment bag; avoid plastic covers which trap moisture
Treat the suede side with a premium water-repellent spray specifically designed for sheepskin before its first wear
