How to care for your viscose garment ?
Viscose is a lightweight, breathable fabric, valued for its silk-like drape and vibrant colors. Because it is sensitive to water and heat when wet, a few simple steps will help prevent shrinkage and preserve its beautiful fluidity over time.
Washing
- Wash your piece at a maximum of 30°C (85°F) on a delicate cycle, preferably inside a mesh laundry bag. Use a mild liquid detergent and avoid bleaching agents.
- Viscose fibers are more fragile when wet; avoid twisting or wringing the garment by hand to protect its shape.
Rinsing
- A thorough rinse in cold water is the secret to removing soap residue, ensuring the fabric retains its signature softness and airy movement.
Drying
- Air drying flat or on a hanger away from direct sunlight is best. Tumble drying is not recommended, as the high heat can cause severe shrinkage and stiffen the fibers.
Ironing
- Viscose naturally stiffens when wet but completely regains its suppleness once ironed. Iron your piece inside out on a low heat setting while still slightly damp, or use a gentle garment steamer.
- Dry cleaning is also an option for more structured items.
Small actions that make a difference
Avoid the tumble dryer to prevent shrinkage and protect the fabric's drape
Choose a gentle spin cycle (maximum 600 RPM) to minimize deep creases
Reshape the garment gently along the seams while it is still damp
Always iron inside out to avoid creating any shiny marks on the surface
Follow the care instructions on the label, especially for pieces blending multiple fabrics
